Meet Kristin DeJong, SFG I

Kristin can “talk the talk” because “she has walked the walk”. Since 2007, she has embraced the benefits of kettlebell training. She began her journey into fitness with the goal to lose weight. With kettlebells, she was able to reach her goal but then further go on to transform and shape her body. Along the journey, she developed the passion to help others achieve the same rockin' results. In January 2014, she became a certified StrongFirst Girya (SFG) instructor.

The opening of BodyArmour Fitness Oxford, with her husband Daren has brought their dream of gym ownership to reality. Kristin is prepared to bring her personal experience, knowledge and training to each & every client. She will utilize her enthusiasm to motivate and encourage others to develop a stronger and healthier lifestyle.

Our Mission

At BodyArmour Fitness Oxford, we focus on “hardstyle” Russian kettlebell training using StrongFirst techniques and principles. Our goal is to help you reach your physical & mental potential while having fun. Kettlebell training delivers extreme all-around fitness. From melting fat, developing strength & power and improving coordination and agility, the kettlebell is the most efficient tool to deliver all of your fitness needs. It's not just about looking good, but feeling good too. Your training should be challenging, inspiring and enjoyable. From the stay-at-home moms/dads, police, fire, military personnel to elite athletes, kettlebells offer efficient functional workouts.

What is a Kettlebell?

The kettlebell is an ancient Russian weapon against weakness. A “kettlebell” or girya (Russ.) is a traditional Russian cast iron weight that resembles a cannonball with a handle. In Imperial Russia, “kettlebell” was synonymous with “strength”. A strongman or weightlifter was called a girevik or a “kettlebell man”. Strong ladies were girevichkas or “kettlebell woman”. No single other tool, delivers extreme all-round fitness better.


Kettlebell Intro Workshop is a prerequisite for attendance to our kettlebell classes. You will learn the 6 basic kettlebell techniques that will transform your body. These unique combinations develop strength, cardio and flexibility. All ages and fitness levels are encouraged to attend.

Kettlebell Classes/Bootcamps - Kettlebells and body weight training are the main focus but we will also incorporate a variety of equipment such as ropes, tires, medicine balls, TRX and more. These classes will increase strength, build lean muscle and burn stubborn body fat.
